The goal for this project was to create a bold and family-friendly brand, that captured the restaurant's history and heritage while being clean and responsive across multiple mediums. The restaurant's previous branding did not effectively convey the traditional and authentic nature of the restaurant's barbecue and atmosphere. It was stated during the project brief that the logo would be applied to various mediums, such as website, menu, and signage. The design team had to create a brand that would appeal to both locals and tourists, and accurately reflect the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity.
Tripass Design provided a solution for Blackstone Smokehouse by creating a clean and responsive brand that effectively captured the restaurant's history and heritage. The design team researched the restaurant's history and found an arrowhead that was discovered during renovations, which became the inspiration for the logo. The resulting logo was a beautiful diamond-shaped badge that featured an arrowhead, which symbolized the restaurant's connection to its past and its traditional Texas-style barbecue. The logo was designed to be responsive and work well across all mediums, including the restaurant's website, menu, and signage.
The design process for creating the brand for Blackstone Smokehouse involved several stages. The first stage was research, where the design team learned about the restaurant's history, heritage, and atmosphere. They conducted interviews with the restaurant's owners and staff to understand their vision for the brand and gather information about the restaurant's traditional Texas-style barbecue and its commitment to quality and authenticity. We came up with several ideas and concepts for the logo and branding, but were drawn to the traditional style badge.
